Blogging WhatsApp Classes 1

Hello guys,

Good day.

I hope we all are doing fine, and I thank you all for joining my Whatsapp Blogging Masterclass. I couldn't have spoken to myself 😂

So before we start, I would love to do a little introduction. My name is Clifford, and I am a twin blogger, freelance writer, web designer, YouTuber and freelance writer.

My twin is Stanford, and we own InfoGuideAfrica.com, Know.com.ng, Browse.ng and a few other websites.

We don't have any other jobs aside our websites and blogs, and it has been a good life

Now, I don't know how you joined the group, whether from my blog, or Facebook ads, or tweets or anywhere, you are welcome.

Without wasting any more time, we will be going into what we came here for - Blogging

Now, what is blogging, and can you make money from it?

Blogging simply put is the act of running a media website. Don't panic yet, I will break it down... hehe!

A blog is a website, but a different kind of website. A blog is a kind of website that is constantly updated, while a normal website has a static homepage.

The both of them make good money for the owners, and they way you make money from your blog depends on the way you run it.

Take for instance, you own a shop in a plaza. No one tells you whether to sell bags or shoes or even electronics. It all depends on you.

The same things takes place in the blogging career, you own the blog and the way you decide to monetise it depends solely on you.

Why must you be a blogger?

1) Blogging is very lucrative, and also almost free. I spend only $17 on my website’s domain name annually, but it makes me at least $800 a month.

2) The sky is so big for every bird, and the internet is so big for every blogger. Even if a particular niche is already so saturated (though it is never possible), there are several others you can join.

A niche is a particular thing your blog is about, let's say fashion, automobile, clothing and things like that.

They are all niches.

3) There are thousands of ways to make money through any particular blog, and there are no limits to any amount you make.

4) Blogging will give you relevance. I’ve had meetings with celebrities, influential people, politicians and even top pastors all because I run a blog, and I know what I’m doing.

5) You will get the opportunity to advertise your products free to the world. I’ve sold tons of my own products and other people’s own. My ebook on freelance writing has sold over 700 copies and still selling. I don’t pay to advertise it, nothing at all.

Now, how can you create your own blog, and what does it take to become a blogger?

You can create your blog on Blogger.com or Wordpress.com, and they both have different advantages and disadvantages.

Blogger.com is interesting, especially as a beginner. It is free, and you can get a .com domain name for only $0.99 from GoDaddy.

A domain name is the name of your website, for instance facebook.com is the domain name, .com is the extension. You can go for .com, .ng, .com.ng, .org and so many others. I always advise to avoid any country domain eg .ng if you want to target people outside the country.

Aside being free for life, Blogger.com is also not hackable, because it is directly linked to your gmail account, and covered by Google's security. It is owned by Google.

To set up your Blogger website is very easy, just visit Blogger.com or you can contact me after the classes ðŸ˜ƒ

Okay, let's talk about WordPress.

WordPress, or WP for short is not as free as Blogger, and comes with a lot of extra functions and tools.

You have to be paying for hosting, and domain name too while in Blogger.com, you will just be paying for domain name.

A hosting is like a rent you pay to keep your goods (posts, videos, articles, files) online. You can purchase any space depending on your budget.

Which is better you may ask? For me, they are all very interesting in their own ways. My main blog, InfoGuideAfrica.com is hosted on Blogger.com while the other, Browse.ng is hosted on WordPress.

If you want to know where any site is hosted, there are so many ways, but in my case I just rightclick their images and open in new tab.

A site hosted on Blogger will have an image with link starting with https://1.bp.blogspot.com/xyzxyz

A site hosted on WordPress will have a link like https://browse.ng/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/cropped/xyzxyz

There are so many other ways, and I just have to stick to these two. Aside Blogger and WP, there are so many other places where you can host your website such as Wix.

I however suggest you stick to these two so you can always get help whenever you need them from fellow bloggers, since majority use this.

Let's take that for an intro, if you need a WordPress site or want to learn how to create your own, you can contact me after the class. Discussing it here will make the chat too bulky and boring.

Now let's talk about writing, since that is what the blogging is all about.

Before you create a blog, you have to think about your niche.

Which niche do you want to write on? A niche is a topic you will be blogging about.

It could be fashion, entertainment, news, politics, automobile, education and any other thing.

You can even combine one or two niches, or even more. It's your blog and the way you manage it is up to you.

When choosing your domain name, always go for something you can always use for other things, especially as a new blogger.

Several bloggers would tell you that as at the time of buying their domain names, they didn't know what they wanted to use it for.

Same as me, when I got InfoGuideAfrica.com, I didn't know what I was going to use it for, now I'm using it for everything. Even Browse.ng isn't tied to any niche, and I can always switch to something having more potentials.

Now, don't just dive into blogging without checking out other blogs in your niche.

There are so many things that should guide you as a blogger. Learn how to spy on others, and a tool like spyfu.com can help you do that.

With it, you will be able to write very well. I won't also stress much on this, since it is not the main thing and the whole things might just get bulky.

When writing your articles after the creation of the site, always make use of headings and sub-headings. They help the search engines interpret your contents and rank you better.

Also use bullets and dashes to pin-point your points, and make your audience read them more easily.

After writing, it is time to get traffic. There are many ways of generating traffic to your articles, and my favorite two are search engines and social media traffic.

Reasons are these, they are free, and are the most valued types of traffic.

I will start with social media traffic, especially Facebook and Twitter.

When you create a Facebook page, it starts with 0 likes as we all know, but there is a little trick we use for getting pages that have more than 4,000 likes to begin with.

Create a female Facebook account, and put the photos of a hot girl as your profile picture. Go to a group and talk some nonsense, maybe that you are looking for a boyfriend or someone to sleep with you... Lol.

People will send you hundreds of friend requests, and you calmly accept all. It should take you something close to 2 weeks and the account will be getting more than 4,000 friends.

Now, go to your settings and generate a Facebook page from your account, you can message me after the lesson if you find that difficult to do. I don't want to make it bulky here.

Talking about Twitter, it is one of my most favourite traffic sources. Even with 20 followers, you can get more than 5,000 visitors in a day to your blog using Twitter

Create an account, check by the right hand corner on PC Twitter and you will see hashtags and trends, ie #Buhari trending this night means everybody is talking about Buhari.

Get all the hashtags, open the notepad in your PC and paste all of them exactly as appeared.

Make your post with a very interesting caption, then share it with those hashtags and watch your traffic booming.

Begin to bring screenshots and teach how to create a blogger blog
